When is she starting the trip?
Especially with kids i would probably leave later in the day towards evening so the sun is going down.
If she needs a place to kill a few hours she is welcome to come to our house in summerlin and have the kids use the pool and get tired before the trip. Or there is a great children’s museum downtown by the smith center that should be open.
