The BIGXVI.(OR WHATEVER) However convincing the arizona's, yewts (or Boise don't care which), Cougs, buffs, rams would build comon sense, contiguous growth, restore natural rivalries and extended time slots and would suck the life out of the pac and mwc.
Pac is a disaster and the 4 pac schools are not traditional pac schools so possibilities exist to form a conference that can grow in quality would provide earlier kicks/tips providing much needed exposure for the Pac schools while weakening the pac and leaving them to languish in the worst possible time slots.
Adding those 6 brings the BIGXII to 14 dump WV they are a liability anyway, Add Houston, sdsu and boise. This is a very solid football/ basketball conference of 16 teams. With natural regional rivalries.
West Division-
UofA/ASU
BYU/UTAH
CSU/COLORADO
SDSU/BSU
EAST DIVISION-
TTU/TCU
HOU/BU
OSU/ISU
K ST/KAN
Lastly, if you can lure a disillusioned Nebraska back you dump ISU and form a more natural rivalry with OSU. Isu and WV will likely be swept up in the frenzy anyway.
I would argue that this forms a solid conference, hamstrings the west and just let's the east do what they gonna. I'd also argue that the west division is the stronger football while the east would be the stronger basketball division.
