I think when I stopped liking the show was when they started using casting agencies to select the cast. It used to be a pretty good mix of regular people. I remember one year a 70 year old military vet made it darn near the end. Also an older lady made it pretty far too.

After a while, the casting changed, then the rules of the game changed such that no matter what you did, you could not control the outcome of the game. The rules kept allowing for various exceptions such that the guy who wins power was essentially powerless.

So, it’s lost it’s fun for me. I also started watching when, arguably, the greatest player was playing. So, it’s been downhill from there.
