Skunks are relatively easy to trap. I don't know about drowning it, though. Wouldn't it release it's spray when it dies?

I'm not sure I would want that trap back after that.

I guess he could just drive it out into some rural or wild area and release it there. That's what my FIL used to do with them, and he never had any problem with them spraying him or even threatening to.

No. Drowning them in the cage is a very common tactic.

Thanks. I do know that if you chop off the skunk's head with a shovel, it will spray all over in its death convulsions.

Skunk cages are designed to prevent the skunk from spraying.

This. A skunk won't spray if it can't lift it's tail, and the skunk traps are long and narrow. There's no room for them
