point in time.
He is going to poach more--ACC has to be next. I think Clemson and Florida St are in the SEC within a few years.
My long-game prediction--possibly as early as 2025--he leads the breakaway with the super-SEC and they invite other select schools at that point into their new league. In order to maximize their TV deal, which will be bonkers, they'll have to expand the league to a critical mass that geographically covers the nation.
At that point, the only question for teams like BYU and Utah will be what number the powers that be settle on for membership. 64? That might be too many. 48? 32? There will be a sweet spot were they have the entire country's attention, all the blue-bloods, and all the TV money and the TV money will be peak.
For BYU's sake, 48 would be nailbiting. 64 and we'd be in.
The luckiest school in all of of this--Vanderbilt. They'll be that one school that grandfathers in. They are like the mailroom guy who got Facebook shares early on and is now a multimillionaire.
