Doesn't matter . . .
I was a member of the marching band from 1971 to 1970, and we would NEVER have played that song. It doesn't belong at a football game. The band's job is to get the crowd into the game to support the athletes. We were so good, even the sportswriters of the opposing teams were very complimentary towards us when they wrote up the game. How many times is a band mentioned by a sportswriter, especially the opposing team's band? One time we sent our score to Florida A&M whose band was considered one of the best, if not the best, marching bands in the nation - they returned it staying no marching band could play that music (Lucretia MacEvil by Blood Sweat and Tears). When we visited Arizona and ASU (they were in the WAC), their band members came over and asked us how we were able to play such fun music. NEVER play Popcorn Popping at an athletic event. It belongs in Primary.
