in my first real job out of college I was told I may not be a good cultural fit when my boss found out that I don't drink alcohol.
I probably could have made a fuss about it, but I was too naïve and didn't care enough about the job to speak up...but I can't imagine ever saying that in a business setting.
This isn't because I'm pretending to be culturally sensitive, I'd just hold myself to a higher standard when tasked to make important business decisions. There should be a business case for taking this route. Granted the 'right' decision is rarely clear, but normally there should be an effort made to document the reasoning behind an significant decisions, right? Too much to ask?
I'm surprised he said that...or maybe I'm not because I think we all know what he's getting at.
I sense a little hypocrisy in that statement, because if you said that within the context of HBUs expressing interest in membership, or say there was a private school for LGBTQ+ in the mix...wow.
