First off, BYU just needs to be in a conference. I was a fan of Indy early considering the options at the time, but I am sick of it now. We need to be in a conference again.
Secondly it needs to be proven that BYU can actually join a "Power" conference and everything will be OK. We aren't hard to deal with. Sunday play isn't really that big of a deal. BYU can live in a world with LGBTQ+. Their greatest fears about BYU need to be shown to be unfounded.
At that point whatever happens in the next phase of college football expansion/contraction BYU can at least prove that some of the fears conferences had about BYU shouldn't be a factor. Judge BYU based on the product on the field and, more importantly the eyeballs BYU can bring to a conference.
Of course that all comes crashing down if BYU ends up being hard to deal with, Sunday play becomes an issue or the LGBTQ+ make life for BYU in a conference miserable.
