If Oklahoma and Texas leave for the SEC, I don't see the BigXII being one of the big 5 conferences anymore. Maybe the BIG picks up Kansas and ISU (both AAU schools) and the Big XII is left with 6. I don't see any of the other schools being picked up by a major conference. They are not adding teams that won't add value. ISU may not even be valuable to the B1G but Kansas basketball could be.

I also assume that AAC members won't leave the AAC to join this conference. it will be a downgrade. And I assume that the PAC12 won't be interested in any of the Big XII schools. Again, they may not add enough value.

So, what happens? Maybe the rest of the Big XII picks up the best of the MWC + BYU and forms a conference. It isn't one of the big 4 but it is a viable conference.

Possibility 1: ISU and Kansas both join B1G. Add BYU, CSU, BSU and SDSU to get back to 10 teams.

Possibility 2: ISU stays and Kansas goes. Add BYU, CSU, and SDSU (CA foothold). Back to 10.

Possibility 3: ISU and Kansas both stay. Add BYU and CSU. Maybe Boise and SDSU to get to 12.

West Virginia is a real outlier and will make it difficult for travel. That is a problem.

This is the best I can hope for for BYU unless they can land with the AAC.
