Consensus now is that this is on the Jets, but this will shift if it drags on.
Jets historically have pressed contractual offsets for rookies more so than most NFL teams, so this is not a surprise. But it will start looking bad for Zach the longer it plays out.
Zach's side would do well to try to get it resolved this week if they can.
I wasn't aware of this before until reading about it yesterday, but apparently Darnold held out for a while, and many speculated that was not a good look and ultimately became somewhat of an indicator as to how his tenure with NYJ was going to play out.
