I wonder if ESPN wants to blow up the Big12 so it doesn't have to pay continuing
Media money till 2025. Create an easier path for Texas and OU to the SEC. It would also reduce the buyout fees and likely allow for a renegotiation of the Longhorn network if the Big12 ceased to exist.
