ESPN told BC to block UConn’s entry into the ACC.

This tidbit is found in Thamel’s article that the real feeling about ESPN, in the world of collegiate sports, is mistrust.

The anecdote came to light, in 2011, when the former BC AD was interviewed by the Boston Globe.

I have always opined that it was evangelicals that kept BYU out if the Big 12, in 2011. Perhaps it was ESPN?

Big 12 commish Bob Bowlsby takes aim at ESPN, echoing a distrust schools have for network

Bowlsby’s accusation was, essentially, that ESPN was trying to orchestrate a maneuver that could help save the network and its partners well over a half-billion dollars.
