BYU is a national BRAND!!! Brings $$$, eyeballs and credibility to the forgotten 8.
I think the lift this association would give to BYU recruiting is the biggest factor. A lot of “fit” athletes (LDS and other Christian/Muslim) want what BYU offers IF it also offers a path to playoffs/NFL.
I know the pukes and twitt don’t want see this happen.
