Opinions on how serious an offense this is:
My nephew, his wife and their daughter live in an apartment (essentially a 4-plex). They have had an ongoing feud with the downstairs neighbors. The last major issue was a refusal by the neighbors to pick up their dog poop that is literally covering the shared grass area (I saw pictures, it's all over). So, they argued.

Well, this neighbor just broke up with her boyfriend, and I guess because she was mad at him, confessed to my nephew and his wife that the boyfriend poured anti-freeze all over their tomatoes, angry at them over the dog-poop incident. They had been feeling weirdly sick for a bit, so they think that's what caused it. Obviously, that's pretty dangerous, and could literally kill them if they didn't get it washed off properly.

They've called the police (she just barely posted this on Facebook as it's happening). The girlfriend is texting her ex to try to get a confession, pretending like she's still angry at them. So, she texted, "I'm still (mad), what did you do to them so I can do it again?"

Anyway, how serious of an offense would this be if they actually have a confession like that from him? I have no idea.
