by taking four G5 teams at once. It should take two pseudo P5 teams, BYU + Cincy and hold for a few years before adding Houston and UCF.

Cincy's football and basketball programs are in all seriousness better than most P5's. BYU is viewed as a P5 with no home. Adding those two teams first in my opinion allows the Big 12 to retain P5 status albeit wounded and unstable. Adding Cincy also gives WVU a much needed travel partner and will help secure the geography in the east.

You just can't add more right now. The brand is too unstable and perception in college athletics is everything. Eventually go to 12 but it can't be all at once. With all that said we'll still probably never get an invite lol
