They will do so much better in a lot of areas.

1) Rebounding will improve. Bless his heart, Haarms performed well late in the year, but only averaged 5 rebounds per game. This team elsewhere is taller and more athletic and any replacement at the 5 will get at least 5 rebounds, no sweat. Lohner and George will up their stats, too, just by getting more mature and having the game slow down.

2) Assists per game. TeJ will be a force from the get-go and not be a project like Averette. BA played well late in the year, but TeJ is bigger and sees the floor better right now. Plus he has stated that he is dedicated to making his team better. He is an assist machine and not a turnover liability ... huge upgrade. There will be fewer instances for fans to shake their heads about someone driving into trouble late in the clock. Two or three plays a game (minimum) that result in higher percentage possessions will make a big difference.

3) Overall defense. Older and better athletes in tune with each other make this a certainty.

4) More consistent shooting. Not so hot and cold. There will be a better mid-range game, and it will open up better looks from the 3.

5) Better bench. Better minutes there. BYU will have one player coming off the bench at the 2/3 spots who would start on every other WCC team not named the Zags, and even they might have him in heavy rotation. When has that happened in recent history?
