speaking of outlier years...Huntley's senior year was an outlier...
...the rest of his career he was very average, PFF grades were 72.1 and 78, just 139 PER passer who had okay accuracy throwing mostly short passes in a very controlled passing attack. 2019 was a total outlier for him. As a team he led an offense that avg'd 32 pts a game and as far as strength of schedule goes, you went 4-3 vs teams with .500 records. It was an okay schedule, one ranking system put it at 51st, but it kind of illustrated that it was a down year in the Pac12 across the board.

When you went up against good to fairly good teams you struggled to score and Huntley struggled to complete passes or get the ball downfield. Against Oregon his PER was 123.5 with Y/A 6.7 and against Texas it was 125.6 with Y/A 5.5. He was a little better vs USC but overall he got smoked by his competitor (Fink of USC had a very Zach Wilson-like PER of 194.6, threw for 351 yds with a Y/A of 11.7

The down year in the Pac12 helped artificially inflate Huntley's senior numbers and turned them into an outlier year compared to the rest of his career at Utah. I think Whitt's tight control of the "throw game" also helped artificially inflate Huntley's PER. He wasn't required to do much and wasn't allowed by Whitt to make risky throws
