I won’t get into it here, but let’s just say that I have a teenager with some unique issues. Addressing them in a helpful way is incredibly difficult and I can sometimes (too often) show my frustration.

But my frustration doesn’t make this any better. The opposite, in fact.

And the other night, that’s what happened. And I could see this moment of, like, oh crap, here I am making this worse for you, when it’s already super hard for you. I need to be the one making this easier, not harder.
