I’m as big a track fan as you’ll ever find
But I can’t stand the decathlon. These guys are great athletes but, with very few exceptions, they aren’t elite at any of the events they do. The ultimate jacks of all trades, masters of none. Some of them are even legitimately bad at certain events. It’s just a stark contrast between decathletes and those competing in the open events.
Am I the only one who feels this way?
