On our way to Island Park and we stopped at a small bbq joint on the way. I don’t want to point fingers so I won’t name the place. I got a 3 meat plate for 15 bucks.. chicken, tri tip, brisket. Does it come with sides? Not really.. you can choose a drink OR coleslaw OR fries. So I got a drink. This all wasn’t too offensive. Just seemed overpriced..
My offense lies in what was claimed to be brisket. I truly thought they mixed up my order and served me cafe Rio pork. Shredded, overdone, smothered in a sweet sauce. No.. turns out that is their brisket. No advertised as pulled brisket, or even chopped brisket like R&R.. it literally looked and tasted like an amateur version of cafe Rio pork cooked in a crock pot for 3 days. This is clearly how they serve it!
Guy in line behind me said “This is the best BBQ in town!”
Poor souls. I don’t want my money back, I just don’t want them to lie to these innocent souls about what brisket is. Flabbergasted.
