Honestly, he's not wrong. Unless you're one of the top 3, maybe top 5, people don't pay that much attention n
Not unless there's some crazy result (like Washington or Florida St losing to FCS teams).
There were 1.5M viewers which is great compared to the BYU norm and about average for us in a P5 game. But it doesn't move the needle nationally.
In week 1 the games that received the same amount of viewers were West Virginia vs Maryland and Western Michigan vs Michigan. Think about your feelings about those games last week and realize that's how most outside Utah viewed the BYU/Utah game.
Until one of those teams is nationally relevant (BYU hasn't regularly been for 30+ years, Utah never has been with the exception of one-off seasons) that game isn't going to get the attention we'd like it to.
That said, it is the epitome of absurdity to have USU fans calling us out for lack of national relevance
