it as a tax credit as you are allowed. Recently I received a letter from the IRS saying I never cashed my $1200 check and I need to contact them so they can reissue it, which is weird because I used it as a tax credit since I never got the money. Then I get another letter that says I miscalculated on my taxes by marking the credit and I owe them $1200 dollars. I tried calling them but its a nightmare getting through and then once I finally made it past 6 different menus I got a message that says, sorry we are too busy right now. So now I supposedly owe them 1200 plus interest even though even by their own admission I never received the 1200.

Anyone know how to resolve this?

I really hate our government.
