Bro. The rising cost of the cheapest food hurts the poor by far the most.
If you make 200k a year the doubling of cost of MCD fries doesn’t impact you at all. To the guy struggling to pay $1500 rent that month, it is a big deal.
Same with gas prices. It now costs $65 to fill my tank but was $40 not that long ago. That same guy struggling to pay his rent now also struggles to commute to work each day.
The detrimental impact is directly and inversely proportional to income.
