One of the things I think Utah did very well after joining the P12 was getting their brand/logo all over the state. One example: I’ll bet the U license plates on Utah cars are 5-10x the BYU ones. (At least on lifted trucks) Another: flags on homes and businesses.

If I’m being honest there have been times over the past decade I chose not to wear BYU hats or shirts because I simply didn’t want to deal with smack from random Utah fans.

I think BYU has a similar opportunity with their invite to the B12. I’d like to see cougar fans in Utah come out of the closet and show their colors a bit more prominently. Over the last decade BYU fans in Utah have had to endure Utah fans at work, school and church. Now it’s time to turn the tables.

We easily outnumber Utah fans so let’s create our own blue wave. There is no better payback for all the crap we’ve endured during the streak than to give them some of their own medicine. Let them see blue everywhere.

Don’t be shy…Bust out your BYU gear (not B12 gear) and wear it proudly at work, school and when you travel. Get a BYU license plate or frame or put a sticker on the window of your cars. Fly a flag on Gameday or everyday. I’d love to see the cougar club send window stickers or license plate frames when people join or something people can use or display outside the stadium.

I can’t help but think the amazing show in the ROC the first two home games is helping to create a whole new generation of avid cougar fans. It’s been impressive. Id love to also see an outreach to local HS to get the BYU logo in front of potential recruits and students.

Time to drown out our rivals. You can’t create waves you can only ride them and right now we’ve clearly got a nice wave to ride. Hopefully it will be a long one.

Order has returned to the college football universe in Utah again. Let’s leave no doubt who the big dog is in this state.
