What are your reasons for hunting with different cartridges/calibers....
for different species of animals? I had an .06, an 8MM Mauser, and a 7.62 x 39, but I only ever hunted with the .06 (deer and elk).
What are the considerations for using a different cartridges/calibers? Ballistics? Weight? Recoil? Other?
Thanks.

100%. Truth is that pretty much everything in North America can be hunted effectively with a 30-06….but guns are cool
