Iowa State wants to look at schools’ histories before expansion is decided
According to the article about Iowa State’s complaint, “The statement addresses the lack of an opportunity to evaluate the histories of a new member before coming to a verdict.”
Let’s evaluate the history.
Iowa State has an all-time winning percentage of .456.
In their 129-year history, Iowa State has been to a grand total of 16 bowl games, winning 5 of them.
Iowa State has won 2 conference titles. Who doesn’t remember fondly that glorious stretch of success in 1911 and 1912? Those two years were awesome.
Iowa State has produced 5 all-Americans in 129 years.
Iowa State has finished a football season ranked on 3 separate occasions.
I could go on, but I think those numbers more or less summarize their history.
(To be fair, the Cyclones are 4-0 all-time against BYU, having last played each other in 1974.)
