How many times does Bronco have to promote/demote Howell before he lets him go? It’s not a normal thing to have your defense completely give up for a few games, until an internal coaching change is made. I have nothing against Howell, but man, what a weird relationship. It seems Bronco should have learned his lesson after the Jaime Hill situation, and yet that scenario seems to play out every few years on his staff.

Also, I really like like some of the assistants that left with Bronco, and would love to see some of them back at BYU some day, but the fact that that staff seems to make the same mistakes over and over and over is deeply concerning to me. Lots of lack of discipline, poor tackling, and overall lack of identity.

I have to say, watching that game last night, I’m pretty shocked that they’re having some of the recruiting wins that they are.
