It’s one of my biggest pet peeves. I wish our fans would show a little more respect toward our opponent online and on forums like this, especially when USF beat us the last time we played, which wasn’t too long ago.

In the past few years alone we’ve lost to plenty of teams we were superior to on paper. Does our attitude as fans impact the outcome of the game? No. I don’t think so. But we know players read CB all the time. Is there at least a small chance it rubs off on them mentally when all they read is that we’re going to simply show up with any QB or backup RB on our roster and walk away with an easy win?

I see similar attitudes on CB regarding the matchup against USU next week. USU will come to play next week. And their fans will be loud. They’ll give us their best fight. And USU has won their share of games against us the past decade plus. Again, why are so many fans cocky against a team that demolished us at home when we were 4-0 and walking around with too much swagger? We were getting beat all across the field even before Taysom went down.

Pride cycle is a real thing. Even for fans.
