run the clock out. Sometimes the starting of the play clock takes more than a second. It ended up that we had something like 4 seconds left over and we could run it out, but if refs didn’t spot the ball fast enough or just a few seconds on more than one play, and BYU would have to decide on going for another first down or giving the ball back to USF. I disagree that it was obvious the time was going to run out to just kneel it. As it was, BYU deserves some credit for running the clock for the last 5 minutes and never giving USF another shot.
