Phenomenon. Heard so many fans complaining about heads needing to roll even at these perennial top 25 (top 15 really) programs. Let me know if any of this sounds familiar at all, Cougar Board.

Wisconsin needs to fire their DC who is just absolutely awful. He held ND’s offense to 20 points, 3 rushing yards, and 250 total yards. They also registered 6 sacks if my memory serves me correctly. But absolutely they should just fire him because he clearly isn’t earning his paycheck.

Brian Kelly just has to go for Notre Dame, in spite of taking care of business of a Big Ten stalwart at a neutral site. He is holding them back from being true championship contenders. Never mind that they are in the top 10 and he has led them to multiple postseason bids where they were in contention for a national championship. And don’t ask where ND was the decade before he arrived.

Both teams have a pretty darn good thing going and their fans just can’t enjoy it. The fact is: every team (except maybe Bama) has deficiencies, injuries, and problems that seem impossible to overcome. BYU (and some its fans) are no different than the rest of college football. The D could be better at times. The offensive play calling gets a little weird/cute sometimes. There are personnel concerns. Injuries can hurt you. Other teams have the same problem, so just win the games on the schedule and enjoy it. Yeah, someone might eventually exploit our weaknesses and beat us; but those teams also have weaknesses that we can exploit. What I have seen from BYU this year is the ability to win in multiple ways. I think that gives us a huge edge in any game because we can exploit multiple possible weaknesses from the other side and hope we can cover enough of our deficiencies to win. That doesn’t mean we will go undefeated, but it doesn’t mean we will go 6-6 because ‘Tuiaki is just awful.’ Enjoy the ride. Seasons like this don’t come around every year!
