A recruiter called me, so I finally decided to test the waters. Made it through several telephone and Zoom interviews, before going to the office for an official visit. I was told that it was down to me and another person, and that I was in pole position. I sat in a conference room for around 3 hours with the person who would have been my boss, and we actually had a fantastic conversation/interview. At that point, I could envision myself working for this guy. After the interview...nada, crickets. I finally called my recruiter to ask what was going on and after a day or so, he got back with me and said that they went with the other person. I'm totally OK with that, because I wasn't really looking in the first place, but I'm totally bugged about them not even sending a courtesy rejection email or anything. I was a final-stage candidate who they completely ghosted, so I view their behavior as less than professional.
