I knew the shooter was still at large, but just found out tonight that he is also a former student of mine. The boys were close friends. The story is that one boy sold the other an empty vape cartridge. The kid who was shot was a good student, and had a good sense of humor. The other boy never failed to make me laugh, and was liked by pretty much all of his peers. This is just so shocking.
