I don't want to blame anyone before Kalani, but it seemed we were not recruiting kids with troubled pasts. I feel Kalani is taking a very Christian perspective to recruiting.

I have sensed a stronger team this year, amongst the players a greater sense of camaraderie. I attribute that in large part to people that come from very hard backgrounds finding true friends and a second family at BYU.

Further, I cannot imagine a better way to make the Football program a missionary tool than to be very open to kids of all stripes, from all backgrounds and help them find a place where they are loved and cared for and will be supported.
