Torn (but not avulsed) root of the meniscus. Very slight bone bruise to the distal tibia. No injury to the PCL, ACL, or MCL.

Ortho recommends eventual surgery, but is OK with him trying to rehab for a few weeks and see if he can finish his senior season of football. Then surgery to repair meniscus. He'll be completely non weight bearing for 4 weeks, and then 4-8 weeks of rehab. Which gets him right to the start of his senior season is baseball.

Or do surgery next week, and kiss football goodbye.

He's taking a few days to decide. Tough decision for a kid to make.
