Long term deal (only six months) and only for new applicants. But if you eat out and shop small, over those six months and hit the bonus (also over six months) that is a ton of points.
Platinum isn’t really a point earner, Amex Gold is better for dining. Platinum is for the lounge access and status with Hilton, Marriott, Hertz, AVis, etc. I have the Chase Sapphire REserve as well and it is my everyday card.

Most amex cards are once in a lifetime, so if you got it before for Delta you likely won't get it again
