Where that lands is all contingent on how some of our opponents play. Let's say ASU and Utah finish ranked and with wins against Oregon and Baylor wins out or even just makes noise by taking out Texas or Oklahoma and finished ranked. I know those aren't likely scenarios, but would ultimately open the door for BYU to be above any PAC 12 team including a 1 loss ASU team and have another good win. UVA most likely only wins 7 games if we beat them, but they have a game against ND that would help us more than just about any of the above. Keeping ND out of the running for NY6 is worth more than any other team in front of us. Arizona, WSU and even USC now won't do much in the grand scheme of things.

This is just the tip of the iceberg. Ultimately playing in the Big 12 and showing well is huge for recruiting. Our momentum here is as good here as it's been since 16 when we got the initial recruiting / transfer momentum from Kalani coming in. The Independence bowl may be our likely outcome, but there is a path to bigger things this year, but a lot of what we play for is for the future of the program and achieving as much as you can within a given year
