One other quick story about my mother-in-law
My wife went to lunch at school one day and pulled out the brown paper sack that contained her lunch that her mom had made her. It literally had two plums from their backyard tree...and nothing else. I don't know if this points to my mother-in-law being cheap or if she just absent-mindedly didn't fully pack a lunch, but my wife wasn't surprised that that is all she got that day.
