Baby woke up at 2 a.m. and wouldn't go back to sleep until 4. We were waking up anyway at about 7:30 so that we could catch a flight to San Diego for a family vacation.

So my wife and I are both tired, and in a bit of a rush to meet up at my mom's place. Because I was trying to get out as quickly as possible, my wife thought that I was being grumpy and mad at her when that wasn't my intention. So she was upset with me until we got to my moms.

Then things started to look up when we left my mom's to go to the airport. We get to the airport, parked, and took the shuttle to the terminal.

When we get up to ticketing, I didn't even realize that the only identification that I had on me was my driver's license that expired two weeks ago. I left my temporary driver's license in my car which was back in Spanish Fork (we took my mom's car).

They wouldn't take my expired license, and so we made the decision to have my wife, our baby, and my mom get on the original flight and I would end up boarding a later flight.

1 hour and $250 later, I have a flight scheduled for 10:30 p.m. out of Salt Lake to San Diego where I am going to meet up with them.

When I got back to my mom's car, I learned that she still had the ticket to get out of the parking lot. I had to talk to the attendant and convince them to let me leave. Thankfully she was very nice and I was able to take off.

I guess it's not all bad. I'm a very introverted person, and now this means I have a few hours to watch the game and relax at home before I go back to the airport.

What is the airport like at night? Is it typically quieter than it is in the afternoons? Just so that I have an idea when I should leave my house.
