1. This game was lost because byu couldn’t run the ball or stop the run.
2. The reason BYU couldn’t run the ball or stop the run is because Baylor is really good on both lines AND BYU is really beat up on both lines.
3. When BYU was healthy on both lines they beat really good teams. Those wins weren’t a fluke.
4. Tuiaki has been installing a system that was a huge personnel shift from what BYU had. When he’s had good players, they’ve been GREAT. Building depth after changing systems takes time. Check the ASU point totals against other teams.
5. BYU is not deep. That’s this team’s biggest issue. It’s why we won games against good teams in September. It’s why we’re struggling now.
5a. The next two games are winnable (those teams aren’t nearly as good as Baylor), but will be very tough. If we get both, we’re winning out. We’re not losing in November after getting a chance to heal with a BYE and finally playing cupcakes. It’s basically a whole month to get healthy and ready for USC.
6. Jaren Hall is QB1, but stop expecting him to work miracles when we can’t run the ball. Some of you are propping up Baylor Romney unrealistically. What games has Baylor won us when we couldn’t run the ball? Baylor is awesome and I’m glad we have him, but Jaren is the guy.
