It was remarkable to see 45,000 strong, both blue/white and green/gold standing for a reverent pre-game prayer.
The whole town and stadium was full of southern, mid-America hospitality, and the BYU contingent was big and loud. Not unlike the crowds we used to bring to SDSU and UNLV, etc. But there were no snide remarks and polygamy jokes thrown our way as we walked the concourses.
The entirety of both teams kneeling for a prayer at midfield after the game made a noticeable impression on both sets of fans. It brought a loud ovation.
Yeah, I know. Baylor isn't exactly like all the other Big 12 schools. But, I think it's safe to say BYU will be more welcome and accepted for what it is in this conference than any other we ever have or could have joined.
Utah belongs in the Pac-12. We don't. We belong here.
