In the middle of his article he says: "What happened at Tennessee on Saturday night should never happen again – either in the SEC or beyond in college football. It was unsafe, untoward and completely unnecessary. It was the actions of many who believed there’d be no consequences, and it’s up to Plowman and Sankey to remind everyone that consequences come with illicit behavior."
Thats an BIG problem all over. Far too many people KNOW that there will be no consequences. Unfortunately, those people are right. There will be no consequences for them. If anything does happen, it won't affect them .... and they will protest loudly that what token discomfort the university and the NCAA metes out is UNFAIR and excessive and potentially racist or bigoted or "ok boomer" old fashioned.
FIXING this problem in the "anonymity" of the crowd in the stands honestly requires first fixing this problem in the anonymity of the internet chat board, the BLM and AntiFa protest, and fixing society.
I honestly don't think the poor fan behavior can be fixed in isolation from the bigger society decay.
What WILL happen ... probably some token effort to check people's bags more going into the stadium. It won't matter much. And the worst part ... get ready for MORE of this is more places as the immoral masses in every fan base get emboldened by the weak response at Tennesse.
