So freaking Lorena Gonzalez pushed AB5 onto all contract jobs but was only targeting Lyft, Uber, and DoorDash. Then CA citizens overwhelmingly rejected that idea, but now the rest of the contract economy (which has been huge in the success of CA, including Silicon Valley), who the law was never really intended for in the first place, are screwed over. Works out for me though since I work for one of the gig economy companies.
