That was because our defense couldn't stop Baylor at all. Their top 2 RB's
combined for 38 carries for 283 yards, which is nearly 7.5 yards per carry. You aren't going to win very many football games giving up that many yards on the ground.

Just look at Baylor's possessions in the 1st half:

1. 3 and out
2. 75 yard drive - threw INT in the endzone
3. 53 yards - FG
4. 75 yards - TD
5. 67 yards - TD
6. 29 yards - Turnover on Downs (at the BYU 24)

So in the first half, outside of the first drive which was a 3 and out, every single other drive saw Baylor get within scoring range.

Here is their possessions in the 2nd half:

1. 78 yards - TD
2. 67 yards - TD
3. 3 and out
4. 82 yards - TD

So not counting end of half/end of game possessions where it was basically kneel the ball and end the game, Baylor had 10 possessions. In those 10 possessions 2 were 3 and outs while 8 they got into scoring position. You aren't going to win very many football games with that sort of swiss cheese defense.
