and then have athletic daughters and sons. I'd imagine there is a slightly higher percentage of women college athletes who date/marry other college athletes than the reverse (male college athletes whose SOs/spouses are also college athletes).
Male college athletes are probably more likely than non-athletes to be attractive to female athletes, and because male athletes as a general rule are probably bigger, stronger, more athletic than the non-athlete guys, they may also be less likely to reject female athletes as possible partners (some guys don't want partners who are taller, stronger, or more athletic than they are).
Athleticism, height, etc., in a spouse/partner are probably of lesser importance to male athletes. Some will value that, some won't. Basically male athletes as a group have a much larger dating pool than female athletes do.
