Are you in Utah? Why aren't you using an HDHP from the ACA Marketplace?
Our family of 6 costs no more than $1,000 per month and most married/filing jointly will qualify for some subsidy. It's not ideal, but it's certainly not that expensive.
As to healthcare and health insurance costs generally, I completely agree. It's all out of whack.
