If you use a life event like a birth to change your plan, the birth will
be covered by the high deductible as it has already happened. Changing it after the birth won’t allow the biking to go through the new, lower deductible plan.
Honestly, would have been better if your enrollment was at the start of the calendar year like everyone else. Then you could change it to the lower deductible until the birth and use the birth as a life event to change it back to the higher deductible.
