Health insurance question...cost of insurance for wife and I is $24k per year.
I am considering partnering our company with another company that could solve some of our technology issues. For various reasons, this would involve moving all payroll employees to their company (including myself) and they would continue to support our products and we would then pay our partner from our revenues enough to cover the payroll expense.

This company doesn't currently have a health plan and we only have 4 total people that use ours. I want to scrap offering insurance and just give raises equivalent to employer share of the current cost of insurance. All covered employees are open to the idea, but I've never really researched insurance options (beyond barfing in my mouth each year the premiums increase).

So the question, does anyone have experience with non-employer plans. Anything to look for or lookout for? We like the idea of high deductible maybe with an HSA.
