with an Athlon XP 2500+. Every one since has had an Intel CPU. I finally upgraded my main desktop PC and went back to AMD with a Ryzen 7 5700G processor with built in graphics.
So far, I am liking it very much. 8 cores/16 threads and very good (not high-end gaming quality) built-in graphics. The TDP is only 65W and it is much faster than my previous 4c/8t Intel CPU in media creation tasks.
It has received some pretty good reviews even as a gaming platform but that is not really my thing.
Bottom line: I would recommend this CPU or its little brother the 5600G (6c/12t) over equivalent Intel CPUs. The closest Intel equivalent to the 5700G is the i7-11700K.
