My wife is doing a graduate program at Baylor. We have been running smack for months leading up to this game.
My 11 yr old son is simply called "BYU" at school cause he wears BYU clothes (or blue) everyday.
He was dreading going to school on Monday, and for good reason. My son talked a lot of trash leading up to Sat. So, he's eating it now.
It's all blowing over, but he did NOT enjoy Monday.
I kept coaching him to say to other kids: "Yep, it was a great game. Baylor played great. The better team won." Anything different than that is fruitless. I'm not certain he took that approach, but that is to his own detriment. Debating with kids about sports (who is better, etc) is fruitless.
I must say that living in the opponent's home town, surrounded by their fans, and then losing to them?? Felt like a rivalry loss. I wanted the satisfaction of a win SO bad. But, whatever. Baylor fans are decent and not jack yewts like other fanbases we know. So, it's been as good as it can be after a loss.
