My son is playing QB for his 7th grade junior high team. He gets so nervous before games.
He'll be dry heaving right before game starts. He is usually fine once the game starts.
I have talked to him about controlling what you can control (manage the game, hold on to ball, etc).........and not worrying about what you cannot control (outcome of game, what other players do, etc)
This is all good and I think it will help him grow as a person.
We dont put any pressure on him to perform well. We let him know that he is loved no matter what!
That being said, any thoughts on how to talk to a pre-teen about this?
What have you all done for your kids?
